Pardon our Dust, We're Expanding to Save More Lives!
Pardon Our Dust-We're Expanding!
In 2022, Animal Care League broke ground on a major expansion and renovation project. Our outdated facility, the opportunity to acquire the abandoned building next to our shelter, and a very big vision pushed us to commit to building a 19,000 SQ FT Pet Resource Campus-and well, the rest is history! Thanks to a group of incredible Capital Campaign leadership donors, Animal Care League was able to complete the first phase of a two part construction project.
In order to ensure that we can maintain a baseline level of operations while expanding into new space and fully renovating our existing space, our construction project is being completed in phases. We are excited to announce that we are now wrapping up phase 2 and preparing for Phase 3 to begin on 7/15. This phase will involve completely rebuilding our dog intake and enrichment areas, which means our space for dog holding/intake will be utilized for urgent cases only. During construction, we will still be available to our police and animal control partners, for lost pet services, and of course will continue to find loving homes for animals in need!
Please note that we will need to adjust our hours and/or availability of services in different ways throughout the year while we navigate construction. If you have any questions, please call us, message or email or see our FAQ sheet for the most up to date information.
Effective 7/15/23 we will be unable to accept non-essential in-kind donations. Please call ahead with questions on what we can accept or visit our Amazon Wish List for our current needs. Donations outside of essentials for the shelter animals can be donated directly to our 2nd Chance Shop at 808 Harrison in Oak Park Weds-Sun.
